A cold boiler takes time to properly warm-up and be placed in service. If a loss of heat for 1/2 hour to 1 hours would not cause any problems then running only one boiler is the preferred method. In your case I would run only one boiler at a time.
Get A QuoteIt takes a good 45-60 minutes before the entire house is warm and radiators are going full force. A plumber told me it was because I had cold water entering the boiler and if it was hot water it would bring the steam on much more quickly, he says if I change this, it should only take 10 minutes what is now taking 45 minutes.
Get A QuoteNo, if close to the boiler it may get warm. With the ambient temparature of the incoming water being colder at the moment, the boiler will have to work harder to raise the temperature. So, after the intial flow which will come from the resevoir in the boiler, you may find the

We had a service tech out (on a mild day by chance) and he temporarily disconnected the outside temp sensor. The system pushed piping hot water through the radiators which raised the house temp

The operator should a) shut down the boiler immediately, purge the boiler, and restart it. b) shut down the boiler, close the fuel valves, and determine the cause of the problem c) try to re-light the burner immediately
Get A QuoteOne temperature control suggests one hot feed to the radiators only. That wouldn't be a combi. Usually a non-combination boiler just provides hot water at one temperature setting which mostly goes to feed the rads. Some is diverted to the house hot water tank, usually an immersion cylinder,
Get A QuoteThe standard warm-up curve for a typical boiler does not increase the boiler water temperature over 100°F per hour. It is not unusual for a continuous minimum fire to exceed this maximum warm-up rate. Consequently, the burner must be intermittently fired to ensure that this rate is not exceeded.
Get A QuoteWater from the cold tap getting warmer instead of cooler if you let it run seems odd, unless your cold water pipes are in contact with hot water pipes, or unless you have a long run of pipe, either under your own property or from the city, that is buried too shallow and picking up heat from the ground, heated by the sun. Get A QuoteMay 29, 2019 · In an alternative type of system known as a condensing boiler, the flue gases pass out through a heat exchanger that warms the cold water returning from the radiators, helping to heat it up and reducing the work that the boiler has to do. Condensing boilers like this can be over 90 percent efficient (over 90 percent of the energy originally in the gas is converted into energy to heat your rooms or your

Get A QuoteThe condensing of cast iron boilers happens at most start-up of the firing cycle. After it starts to warm up the boiler dries out in the flue passes. The time is determined by the size of the boiler and radiation type and water volume.
